Well, it was a whirlwind week and, as the theme of GBTA’s convention said, “Success in Every Direction.” Atlas Travel participated in this year’s national travel industry event at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center with a multi-tiered approach:
- A booth (#652) designed to look like a 1920s theatre venue rather than the traditional tradeshow booth. It featured performances by Boston’s Improv Asylum, taking a humorous look at the world of business travel.
- Atlas Travel’s up and coming technology demonstrated in the Amadeus hospitality suite, further underscoring the fact that Atlas Travel is the first travel management company in the country to invest in the entire Amadeus One suite of products.
- A VIP event for customers and prospects held at the Wang Theatre – an historic Boston performing venue and one of the five largest stages in the country!
Needless to say, Atlas Travel’s presence was anything but traditional, which reflects our corporate philosophy of constantly challenging the status quo.
Many thanks to both customers and potential customers who took the time to visit us on the show floor or in the Amadeus Suite, where our Executive Vice President, Travel Technology & Process Engineering Kim Castro was offering technology demos. And many thanks to those who joined us at our Wang Theatre Event and enjoyed food, drink, conversation, a little music by Boston’s own Bo Winiker Band and a backstage tour that allowed us to view the “house” from the vantage point of the many stars who have played on the largest stage in New England.
We also want to thank the entire Atlas team for the hard work and enthusiasm that allowed us to shine at GBTA. Our new COO Lea Cahill and many members of our business development and account management teams were all over the city at events representing Atlas Travel and our vision that is resulting in easier travel and better management every day.
With our GBTA days fading in the rear-view mirror, Kim Castro’s team is in fast-forward developing, customizing and implementing the many agile solutions that will allow Atlas customers to reach the next level of travel management and drive greater T & E savings.

Plus, we hope you enjoy the video below with a few highlights from “Bells and Whistles,” the Improv Asylum performances in our booth. Please feel free to share the video with friends and colleagues who might enjoy our travel humor, and be sure to seek out these wonderful actors at Improv Asylum in Boston during your next visit.
In the weeks to come, you’ll hear more about our activities at the convention, new members of our team and development of our new website and travel technology.
