Atlas Travel recently sent more of our corporate agents on a familiarization trip (or “fam”) to London, a top business travel destination booked by our clients. In this post, one of our agents gives us some feedback on their experience, which coincided with much of the reverie surrounding the Diamond Jubilee.
It was nice to experience “Upper Class” roundtrip, as I have an executive who flies Virgin Airlines exclusively, both domestic and internationally. Now I see why!
We started off by gathering in the Virgin lounge here in the U.S., which was very nice! Upper class was amazing with flat beds, pajamas, etc. The service was fabulous and always with a smile – they could not do enough for you! Upon arrival in London, we were taken to the lounge area where travelers can shower and freshen up; then, off to our hotel.
The itinerary was busy with little downtime, which I thought was great. We were there to see all we could, and in the little down time we had, were given recommendations of things to do. The Olympics tour was okay. We were only able to view from the bus, and I like to get around and walk sites if possible. However, it was a large area to cover. The Royal tour was great! We were broken into two groups with tour guides and enjoyed walking around the grounds of Buckingham Palace. Our tour guide, Sarah, was very interesting.
During our free time, some of us opted to shop in the Piccadilly area and returned back to hotel on the tube instead of riding in a cab. It was very easy to navigate around, although there was a water main break underground that made it a little challenging, but we made it! London Eye and dinner at Paramount were great…got some fabulous shots.
The lounge in London was beyond my expectations. Jan [another Atlas agent] mentioned how nice it was, “I can’t imagine any of the other lounges even coming close to the services you offer: massages, manicures, haircuts, etc.!”
I greatly appreciate being part of this trip!! Everyone was a pleasure!
Thanks to Terri W. for sharing her thoughts, Robin and Sherry for sharing their photos, and to all the participating agents for taking the time to educate themselves about this destination. One more step in the constant training going on here at Atlas Travel!
